Description
A classic Italian dessert that combines coffee-soaked ladyfingers with a creamy mascarpone mixture, topped with cocoa powder.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup pistachios (chopped)
- 24 pieces savoiardi (ladyfingers)
- 1 cup espresso
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- cocoa powder (for dusting)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine 2 cups of mascarpone cheese with 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until creamy and smooth, creating a luscious base.
- In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream to soft peaks. Gently fold it into the mascarpone mixture, keeping it light and airy.
- Brew 1 cup of espresso and allow it to cool. Dip 24 ladyfingers briefly in the espresso, making sure not to soak them.
- In a serving dish, arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom. Spoon half of the mascarpone mixture over the cookies, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle half of the chopped pistachios generously over the mascarpone layer, adding a delightful crunch.
- Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture. Smooth it out so it looks inviting.
- Cover the tiramisu with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if you can resist the temptation!
- Before serving, lightly dust the top with cocoa powder for a lovely finish and added flavor.
Notes
- For a different twist, replace sugar with honey.
- Use unsweetened cocoa powder for a balanced flavor.
