Description

A classic Italian dessert that combines coffee-soaked ladyfingers with a creamy mascarpone mixture, topped with cocoa powder.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup pistachios (chopped)
  • 24 pieces savoiardi (ladyfingers)
  • 1 cup espresso
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cocoa powder (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine 2 cups of mascarpone cheese with 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until creamy and smooth, creating a luscious base.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream to soft peaks. Gently fold it into the mascarpone mixture, keeping it light and airy.
  3. Brew 1 cup of espresso and allow it to cool. Dip 24 ladyfingers briefly in the espresso, making sure not to soak them.
  4. In a serving dish, arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom. Spoon half of the mascarpone mixture over the cookies, spreading it evenly.
  5. Sprinkle half of the chopped pistachios generously over the mascarpone layer, adding a delightful crunch.
  6. Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture. Smooth it out so it looks inviting.
  7. Cover the tiramisu with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if you can resist the temptation!
  8. Before serving, lightly dust the top with cocoa powder for a lovely finish and added flavor.
