Description

A delicious and moist banana bread recipe that is easy to make with ripe bananas and chocolate chips.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups mashed banana (About 3 very ripe banana)
  • ⅓ cup salted butter (melted)
  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (properly measured)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup semisweet chocolate chips (plus extra for sprinkling on top)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease a 9×5-inch metal loaf pan. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk mashed banana and melted butter together until well-combined.
  3. Whisk in sugars until incorporated.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla, and whisk until well-combined.
  5. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  6. Add chocolate chips, and whisk until just incorporated.
  7. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan, and sprinkle with additional chocolate chips, if desired.
  8. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. I check the bread around 30 minutes and tent with foil if it is browning too quickly.
  9. Let cool in pan for a 5-10 minutes.
  10. Remove bread to wire cooling rack, and let cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Store leftover banana bread in an airtight container to keep it moist.
  • This recipe can be easily doubled for a larger batch.
