Delicious and easy slow cooker BBQ chicken, perfect for sandwiches, tacos, or over rice.

- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 ½ cups barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts or thighs in the bottom of the crockpot.
- In a medium bowl, mix together barbecue sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken, spreading it evenly to coat.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is fork-tender.
- Remove the chicken, shred it using two forks, then return it to the crockpot.
- Stir the shredded chicken into the sauce and let it sit for 10–15 minutes to soak in the flavors.
- Serve warm on buns, in tacos, over rice, or with your favorite sides.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
