Description
Delicious and easy-to-make Hawaiian sweet roll sandwiches filled with savory ingredients and perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 rolls Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 1/2 pound ground beef sausage
- 6 slices turkey ham
- 6 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Without separating the rolls, slice the entire loaf of Hawaiian rolls horizontally, creating a top and bottom half. Place the bottom half in a greased baking dish or on a lined baking tray.
- In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise and Dijon mustard. Spread this mixture evenly over the cut side of the bottom half of the rolls. This adds a creamy tang that balances the richness of the cheese and meat.
- Evenly layer the turkey ham across the rolls, followed by the cooked beef sausage. Add slices of cheddar cheese over the top, making sure every roll gets a little bit of everything. Place the top half of the rolls back on to create a sandwich slab.
- In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter with garlic powder, onion powder, and sesame seeds. Generously brush this mixture over the tops of the rolls — this helps them toast to a golden brown and adds irresistible flavor.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Then, uncover and bake for an additional 5–7 minutes, until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted. Let the mini sandwiches cool slightly, then use a sharp knife to separate them.
