Turkey Brine Recipe

Description

A simple and flavorful turkey brine perfect for enhancing your Thanksgiving turkey.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 cups water
  • 4 tbsp garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 large bay leaves
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp thyme

Instructions

  1. Pour cold water, garlic, sugar and salt into your stock pot and stir for a few minutes to get ingredients to dissolve.
  2. Put whole or pieces of turkey into pot and cover with plastic wrap. Store in fridge for 4 hours minimum to 24 hours – overnight.
  3. Next day lift it out, pour out liquid in cavity, rinse quickly with cool water. Pat skin dry and bake as you would like.

  • Brining for longer yields more flavor and moisture.
